Industry Limits for Retail Request-to-pay transactions?
Each bank currently applies different PayShap limits for request-to-pay transactions.
To avoid failed payments, our Checkout UI automatically filters out bank options that fall outside the transaction amount. For example, if a customer tries to pay R7,000 but their bank has a R5,000 limit, that bank will not be shown as an option. We're also engaging with the SARB to help standardise these limits across all banks.
